I found this shop online by using google..... The owner started n my head but before she begin she ask what style I wanted in which I told her I wanted the medium size box braids, she recommended I get the micro size box braids because of my hair strength and I agreed. That's a great stylist for you someone who isn't just looking to make a buck but also concerned about the health of your hair and I ended up loving the decision that was made. I can't remember the girls name but she had a small fro with a little boy, she ended up finishing my hair and her personality down to her service was AMAZING!! She engaged into conversation with me and all I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work for a reasonable price.. Thank You Saran
The bad: I called on the phone and asked the price for individual (box) braids and was told one price (160) when I got there I was told another price, but since I am new to the area I didn't have any other options to choose from and they were empty at the time. So I asked for them to be midback and not a lot of hair left at the end. She stated that was fine and proceeded to prep the braiding hair. When she finally started the front I said these seem rather short and she said, "oh no honey I will do how you like I'm not finish, I go back and re braid all the way down." When they finished in about 5 hours the braids fell at my shoulders and were No where near my bar strap/ mid back as requested! They can't even go into a high bun!!! I paid 180 for braids that were not as I requested, so I was very upset and felt taken advantage of. I will not be back!
I went here 27 Oct 17. I was a walk in but I only wanted the twin braids. She told me she could do it and how much so I said okay cool. Once she started doing my hair she was very aggressive with turning my head and putting my body in the position she needed me in.. once I told her she seemed to get even more frustrated.. the first side of my head I told her the braids weren’t the same size and she acted confused so I told her to take down and try again. She started braiding my hair way too tight.. so when I told her her response was it has to be this tight to last long. I said I don’t care how long it last but how I didn’t need my hair that tight. She seemed to be even more frustrated lol. All in all.. my hair came out okay and it wasn’t as tight as she wanted it to be.. but I will never go back. We did not converse about anything and she seemed to just want to be done with me as a client.. I’m not sure her name but it was an older lady.
The good: They were polite and the facility was decent.
I have been a customer at Saran Hair braiding since I moved to Augusta Georgia last year. I love the owner. She always recommends what is good for my hair because of its length and texture. She wants to make sure it's something that will last a long time and worth my money. If I have an issue she is very accommodating when needed. She ALWAYS fits me in hen I need an appointment even if last minute. The prices are reasonable and I will remain a customer as long as I live here.
Terrible experience, I was accepted as a walk in i showed her the style I wanted and she said she could do it. I have thick natural hair. She stated she was going to blow dry it and took out a rat tail comb. I explained that since my hair was dry already it would be hard to comb through without wetting it. She said I got it. She began almost ripping my hair out and i stopped her she got annoyed and said She couldn’t do it! Anyone with natural hair should stay away from here if you want to keep it, I’ll never go here again!
